In 1965 The Kingsmen played at our Senior Prom in White Salmon Washington. During intermission, my best friend Rex and I invited them to drink with us in his 1956 Bel Air convertible. We got smashed and Louie Louie was never heard again like they played it after intermission, thank goodness. Rex and I got kicked out of high school for the prank because the principal saw what we did.
Love your writing! I too have wonderful memories of my music teacher in junior high school. He was so patient and a real gentleman. He was probably one of the first black men I had ever interacted with. I grew to have much respect and honored Mr Foster. It has stayed with me all these years and never miss a chance to mention a great teacher who taught me how to read music and play the viola!! Thank you Rob!
That is amazing, isn't it? These teachers are the most optimistic people on earth. They influence us in ways we don't quite understand at the time, and as we age, we think back and get it. They have no way of knowing the influence they had, yet they influenced us nontheless. Now that is something worthy of praise.
Another great story, Rob!

Fabulous fun story!
Great read! Thanks!
Great story. And you named your dog Louie.
I actually named him for my dad, but you are right, dad was indirectly responsible for Louie Louie too.
